I’m Travis, and for someone as geologically young as I am, I have had a number of jobs. I’ve been a woodsmen and a waiter. A stable boy and a shark wrangler. A carpenter and a captain.
Currently I am the skipper of FPB 78-1, an expedition yacht designed by Steve and Linda Dashew, world-renowned sailors and pioneers in the cruising world. To learn more about them and the incredible things they have done, check out their website setsail.com.
The What and The Why?
If you have made it to this site, you likely know what this is, a way for me to keep in touch with all of you, my friends and family. To try and keep you informed as to what I’m up to and where we’re heading. The plan is to start a three year circumnavigation in 2022, so please, join me as we delve into some uncharted waters… but mostly well documented ones.
I don’t know what form this site will take in time, perhaps it will be more blog heavy, with intermittent video, or vice versa. Perhaps just the rantings of a madman shouting into the void, or an honest exposé about lessons learned while exploring parts unknown. Even better yet, it may become a brilliant money-making scheme where I share intimate parts of my life with the world at large for profit, selling my soul for pennies on the dollar… one can dream.
I digress. I have ideas of what to share, but I will be forever curious to know what you would like to see or hear. Please feel free, no… feel encouraged to provide me with any questions, comments, or critiques you may have using the form below.
